Joel Harworth has more than 26 years of experience in the financial services industry and has deep experience helping clients. He became independent in 2016, meaning he can provide strategies from dozens of different financial institutions and providers based on each client’s goals. Joel holds his Series 7, 24, 53, and 66 securities registrations, and he is licensed to provide life, P&C (property & casualty), and Medicare policies in multiple states. He is designated as a CRTP (California Registered Tax Preparer).
Joel founded Connect Tax and Wealth Management with his wife, Kim, and the firm prides itself on proactive tax planning and being there for clients in any situation. “I love helping people. I founded this firm in order to help people with the two things they often struggle most with—taxes and financial decisions,” Joel says. “Our mission is to help all our clients achieve their financial goals and live their best lives.”
“We are proactive tax planners. Most tax preparers only meet with their clients at tax time. We meet with our clients throughout the year so we can make sure to make any needed changes or adjustments during the year so they pay the less amount of tax possible,” he says. “My goal is that clients don’t ever have to worry about their money or taxes.”
Prior to founding Connect Tax and Wealth Management, Joel was an advisor support specialist from 1998 to 2022 for a major credit union. Born and raised in Colton, California, he received his bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in finance from the University of La Verne.
Joel and his wife, Kim, have been married since 2008 and they currently live in Prescott, Arizona, where they are raising their two 15-year-old twin boys. “They are complete opposites,” Joel says. “We love spending time together, going kayaking, hiking, and sitting at home watching movies or playing board games.”
Before moving to Arizona, Joel was very involved in his church, and he and his best friend would cook dinners for group of 300 to 600 people for church functions. These days, in his free time, Joel enjoys golf, hiking, home improvements, and anything his boys are into.
